WashU has proudly partnered with BenefitBump, a national organization dedicated to supporting new and aspiring parents. This partnership delivers comprehensive resources to employees throughout their journey to parenthood, from initial planning through the postpartum period.
As of Jan. 1, 2025, this personalized program empowers WashU employees who are planning to become parents or have recently done so—whether through adoption, fertility support, or birth—to plan effectively, navigate the process, and access postpartum care. The program replaces a previous offering from UnitedHealthcare and provides more holistic family planning for employees. BenefitBump programming offers:
- Guidance from a dedicated BenefitBump Care Navigator, who is a trained emotional health professional, working parent, and expert on WashU benefits and resources;
- Resources for planning pregnancy, adoption, and/or fostering;
- Assistance with leave preparation, including discussing plans with supervisors and transitioning work responsibilities;
- Childcare planning support;
- Delivery or placement preparation assistance;
- Return-to-work planning resources; and
- Care packages throughout the journey
