Tuesday, Oct. 25, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the School of Medicine, Eric P. Newman Education Center (EPNEC), Great Room B
Thursday, Nov. 3, 6 -7 p.m. – Digital (Zoom) housing fair
This housing fair is for those in the market for a new home, considering a home purchase in the future, or for anyone interested in learning about this valuable benefit and the neighborhoods surrounding WashU.
ROOTED: Cultivating Black Wealth in Place
Invest STL is offering a new initiative focused on helping West End and Visitation Park residents build wealth so that they can afford to stay and grow in their neighborhoods. The ROOTED initiative will provide investments of $20,000 in 50 households in the West End and Visitation Park to be put toward:
- Purchasing a property
- Renovating property
- Starting a small business or scaling an existing business
- Opening an investment account
To qualify, participants must:
- Identify as Black
- Be 25 years or older this year
- Reside within the boundaries of the West End or Visitation Park neighborhoods for at least the last six years (on or before 2016)
- Earn between 10-120% of the area income
