Washington University nurses were honored as a part of St. Louis Magazine’s Excellence in Nursing Awards.
The Excellence in Nursing Awards recognizes nurses for their exceptional knowledge, passion and dedication to their field. 57 finalists were selected out of more than 220 nominees from health care institutions across the St. Louis region. The selection committee included well-respected leaders from organizations such as Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, Mayo Clinic-Florida and the University of Missouri.
Six Washington University nurses were finalists, including Mary Hoffman for Acute Care/Family Practice/General Medicine, Michelle Reitz for Advanced Practice, Catherine Fienup for Neurology/Psychology/Behavioral Health, Christi Abeln for Orthopedics, Angela Concepcion for Orthopedics and Karen Hamon for Pediatrics: Non Neonatal.
At the Excellence in Nursing Awards Ceremony on April 19, Reitz and Abeln were winners in their categories. The ceremony took place at the Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis.
