WashU “Recognition Days” start on May 23 and continue into June. We are excited to honor our 2022 service award recipients, distinguished honor awardees, and recognize all of our staff for their dedication to our missions of research, teaching and patient care.
Thank you to all of our staff for your continued commitment and dedication to our missions. You help us achieve so much as an institution. Let’s celebrate together!
A few highlights:
New Service Milestone Program:
This year, we are recognizing 2022 milestone recipients with 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30+ years of service in new ways that embrace a spirit of recognition and appreciation.
Last year, we introduced a new recognition portal and program in partnership with our vendor, OC Tanner. Milestone recipients receive a custom yearbook (recipients receive both print and digital versions) which includes a service award certificate, message from the Chancellor and a section for congratulatory messages from supervisors. Recipients can also access an online recognition portal to make a gift selection of their choice at various price points, as well as view their congratulatory messages.
Please note: if you are an award recipient or supervisor of a recipient, you will receive an email from OC Tanner <appreciate@octanner.com> with details on viewing the WashU yearbook and/or submitting congratulatory messages.
WashU Recognition Hub website will house listings of milestone recipients for 2022, video messages from WashU senior leadership, our WashU KudoBoard and other recognition features.
The WashU Recognition Experience
Find celebratory engagement activities, video messages and all of our 2022 staff milestone and distinguished award recipients on the Recognition Hub. Below are highlights for WashU Recognition Days.
Leadership video messages
Video messages from senior WashU leadership will be posted on the WashU Recognition website. Stay tuned for updates throughout WashU Staff Recognition Days.
Distinguished Service Awards
The distinguished award recipients will be announced on the WashU Recognition site and recipients will be featured in various internal WashU publications. Each distinguished award recipient receives a custom engraved glass award (delivered to the home) and a check for $500 or $1,000.
WashU Recognition Website and KudoBoard
The WashU Recognition website features staff milestone recipients, distinguished honorees, leadership video messages, a WashU Kudoboard and more ways to celebrate staff. The WashU Kudoboard is a place for staff to post notes of appreciation for their colleagues, leaders and teams. We encourage you to view the site, share it with colleagues, and post to it yourself. Staff can also post on LinkedIn using the hashtag #WashUKudos.
Activities
A list of engaging activities will be shared on online with links to virtual events and some in-person activities. All recognition activities are ideas for individual or teams to participate and recognize our accomplishments, and are related to wellness, culture and community.
Managers: We know managers celebrate and recognize team members in unique ways. To encourage and support your recognition efforts, we have created a manager toolkit you can access online to find engagement ideas. Check back soon for more information.
