Enhanced Leave Policy Training and FAQ for Managers

Effective July 1, 2019, we are implementing the second phase of enhanced time off benefits. These enhancements expand paid time off for benefit-eligible staff, adding a short term medical disability benefit and making changes to long term disability, sick time, vacation, holidays and personal days to allow for an expanded, comprehensive and integrated leave package. This allows the university to provide strong work-life balance for staff, as well as greater support for employees early in career or for long service staff with multiple needs for paid time off due to health or family care issues. These changes have been approved by university leadership and reflect input from many stakeholders.

As with any implementation of new policies, there will be questions and inquiries from staff. Please refer to the Expanded Time off benefit overview to help you understand the changes.
