Employee Wellness Relationship Webinars 2024 | Boundaries and Limits: How self-understanding can benefit our relationships

June 7, 2024
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Virtual Session

The Department of Psychiatry Employee and Family Clinical Service invites you to a series of webinar presentations focused on relationships. Our interconnectedness with others is a part of being human. We navigate a multitude of relationships in our lives: co-workers, friends, family, neighbors, and more. We hope you join us in this series as we explore some key facets of healthy relationships with others. We will be discussing communication styles and what they have to do with conflict, the critical factors that contribute to relationship health, and how to understand and apply limit-setting for relationship wellbeing.

Please join the Department of Psychiatry as we explore how awareness of our needs and limits can support us in improving our relationships with ourselves and others. We can sometimes experience challenges in assessing our own needs and preferences when it comes to what we give to others, at times to our own detriment.

In this session, we will address:

  • What boundaries are and are not.
  • How to improve self-awareness around our needs, especially if we commonly override them.
  • How to gain confidence in sharing our boundaries and limits with others.
  • Why self-understanding and advocacy matter for our long-term well-being.
