WashU will enact a new dependent verification process to confirm that only eligible dependents are enrolled in WashU’s medical, dental and/or vision plans. Employees may enroll their eligible dependents in the health plans when they are hired, annually during Open Enrollment and when they experience a life event, such as a marriage or birth of a child. Employees who add new dependents on or after July 29, 2025, will be sent information from our partner vendor, Alight, with instructions for submitting required documentation.
This new process will help WashU maintain our fiduciary responsibility to employees, ensure fairness among all employees by verifying dependents and preserve compliance with federal regulations.
