Dr. Al Bukhari brings a wealth of experience and professional growth to the team derived from her background as a professor. Her academic journey has not only equipped her with subject matter expertise but also honed critical thinking, communication and problem-solving skills. Driven by a passion for continuous learning, she is excited to the prospect of applying her academic insights and pedagogical skills in a new professional setting. With a background in developing and delivering professional development programs, her multifaceted contributions span areas such as languages, linguistics, EDI, teaching best practices, study abroad programs, language immersive programs and grant writing. 

Prior to her current role at WashU, she worked at the University of North Georgia as a tenured associate professor. With dual doctorates in Linguistics (PhD, 2016) and Higher Education Leadership and Practice (EdD, 2022), Dr. Al Bukhari is committed to contributing her unique perspective, fostering collaboration, leveraging transferable skills for the team’s success, and collectively achieving organizational goals. 

Beyond academia, she has worked as a news reporter and anchor at West Virginia Radio and served as an interpreter at The United Nations.
