Employment Offer

After checking references and selecting a qualified applicant, the hiring manager should contact the individual to extend a verbal offer to ensure specifics, such as start date and compensation, are agreed upon. For internal applicants, the new supervisor and candidate should discuss a reasonable start date, which should also be confirmed with the current supervisor. In most instances, the start date should be within two to four weeks (depending on exemption status) of the offer date. The individual designated as the offer initiator in Workday should then send an offer letter to the individual via the Offer stage in Workday for acceptance. 

After the position is filled, it is the responsibility of the hiring team to communicate the results of the interview process to all persons who were interviewed for the position.
