What is BenefitBump?
Starting January 1, 2025, WashU offers BenefitBump to all eligible employees, their spouses/domestic partners, and eligible dependents.
A personalized support program that helps you:
- Access resources for healthy pregnancy, adoption and fostering
- Navigate WashU’s family-related benefits and leave policies
- Connect with dedicated Care Navigators
- Plan for leave and return-to-work transitions
Note: Eligible employees and their spouses/domestic partners do not need to be enrolled in a WashU health insurance plan to utilize this program.

BenefitBump is a free support program for WashU employees who are planning to grow their families or have young children. Whether you’re considering pregnancy, adoption, fostering, or fertility treatment or already have children under five, BenefitBump provides personalized guidance to help you understand and make the most of your WashU benefits and related resources.
BenefitBump is available to all WashU faculty, staff, postdocs, and clinical fellows who are eligible for WashU benefits. You don’t need to be enrolled in WashU’s benefits to use the program – you just need to be benefits-eligible. Your spouse/partner can also use the program, even if they don’t work at WashU.
No – BenefitBump supports all paths to parenthood, including:
- Pregnancy and childbirth
- Adoption and fostering
- Fertility treatment and surrogacy
- Support for families with children under five
- Planning and preparation for any of these paths
BenefitBump is completely free for you and your family. WashU provides this program as part of your benefits package.
Yes. Your participation in BenefitBump, including all conversations with your Care Navigator, is completely confidential and will not be shared with your manager or WashU.
You’ll be matched with a dedicated Care Navigator – a trained emotional health professional who understands WashU’s benefits. This person will be your consistent point of contact, helping you navigate benefits, prepare for leave, plan childcare, and access resources throughout your journey.
