This course is a part of the “Mind Your Growth” mini-series, a set of dynamic 60-minute sessions designed to equip you with fresh in-demand skills just in time for the new year. Whether you’re looking to grow your leadership capabilities, boost your professional toolkit, prepare for new opportunities, or kick-start a new habit, these sessions are tailored to support your personal and professional development goals.

Course Description:

Transform your approach to leadership and personal growth in this engaging 60-minute mini-session designed to empower you with the foundational principles of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People framework. In today’s fast-paced world, it’s all too easy to fall into habits that hold us back and hinder our effectiveness. This mini-session will guide you in identifying those limiting habits and replacing them with powerful, transformative practices. You’ll walk away equipped with practical tools to thrive in both your professional and personal life, making it perfect for leaders at any level seeking to make a lasting and powerful impact.

Whether you are a people leader or self-leader looking to elevate your personal effectiveness and leadership skills, this session will share actionable strategies that will benefit you.

Participants who attend this session will:

  • Explore the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and identify habits that may be impeding their effectiveness and develop strategies to overcome them
  • Learn practical strategies to implement these habits in your personal and professional life to enhance effectiveness
  • Identify ways to be foster self-awareness, cultivate team collaboration, and enhance leadership capabilities to inspire others

Facilitator:  Carla D. Bailey, ECCP, MBA, Director of Human Resources Learning and Development
As the director of Washington University’s human resources, learning and development, Carla is responsible for setting the strategic direction, developing, and delivering University-wide leadership, management, and professional development programs associated with enhancing leaders’ and employees’ capabilities, organizational culture, and personal and professional effectiveness. For more than three decades, Carla has been helping organizations and leaders achieve their full potential- coaching, facilitating, and speaking on transformational leadership development. Carla is a certified executive and leadership coach with a B.S. in Organizational Management, an M.A. in Leadership and Organizational Development, and an MBA from Washington University Olin Business School. 

Audience: This class is for all Washington University in St. Louis staff employees (Leading Self, Others, or the Organization )

No-Show and Late Cancellation Fees:  Cancellations received less than five (5) business days prior to scheduled class will result in a $50 cancellation fee charged to their department. If you’re no longer able to attend, please drop your registration in Workday Learning.
