This course is a part of the Elevate series, a set of dynamic 90-minute sessions designed to elevate your skills and confidence to thrive in an ever-changing world. This development series equips employees with practical strategies and resources to navigate uncertainty, adapt to change, and drive success in any environment. Stay agile, stay ahead! 

Course Description:
What principles guide your decisions, especially in times of change? What drives you to do your best work? In today’s ever-evolving workplace, having a clear sense of your personal values can serve as a powerful anchor, helping you navigate challenges, build resilience, and lead with authenticity. Anchored in Purpose: Identifying and Articulating Your Personal Values is a highly interactive 90-minute session designed to help you reflect on what truly matters to you in your professional life. Through guided activities, discussions, and self-reflection exercises, you will draft a personal values statement that can serve as a touchstone for decision-making, goal-setting, and leadership growth. 

Course Objectives: 
By the end of this session, participants will be able to: 

  • Identify and articulate their core personal and professional values. 
  • Recognize how personal values influence decision-making, resilience, and leadership. 
  • Draft a personal values statement that aligns with their professional purpose. 
  • Explore ways to integrate their values into daily work and leadership practices. 
  • Engage in meaningful discussions to deepen self-awareness and build connections with colleagues. 

Target Audience : This class is for all Washington University in St. Louis staff employees (Leading Self, Others, or the Organization )

Facilitator: Katie Nolen, Learning and Development Consultant

Katie is passionate about fostering a culture of continuous learning and facilitating learning programs that empower all leaders to reach their full potential in an inclusive, supportive environment.  She is a life-long learner and uses her background in education to help staff develop skills and competencies for both professional and personal success.

No-Show and Late Cancellation Fees:  Cancellations received less than five (5) business days prior to scheduled class will result in a $50 cancellation fee charged to their department. If you’re no longer able to attend, please drop your registration in Workday Learning.
