Wellness Connection Role & Responsibilities in Support of Champions

  • Provide appropriate communication about employee wellness programs and opportunities;
  • Create a safe and civil environment for Champions to provide constructive feedback about wellness initiatives;
  • Collaborate with health & wellness experts to offer training and resources for Champions to motivate and engage colleagues to make healthy choices; and
  • Reach out to department supervisors to inform them of wellness initiatives and encourage their support for their employees.

Wellness Connection offers a variety of support to Champions:


Quarterly meetings are an opportunity for Champions to connect with each other, to learn about and provide feedback on upcoming wellness initiatives. If you are a current Wellness Connection Champion or simply interested in learning more about the program, join us for the quarterly luncheon meetings.

The Leadership group is a subsect of Champions who help the Wellness Connection team recruit, train, & engage Champions to help further our mission of promoting employee health and wellness.


Champion Leadership meets regularly with Wellness Connection in order to plan training, set the agenda, and develop collateral for the Champions network. They are integral in helping to provide an organizational framework to support the Champions network as we continue to grow.

Wellness Connection provides specialized toolkits on a variety of topics to help Champions personalize wellness for their departments. These toolkits are available in the Wellness Connection Champion toolkit in WUSTL Box.

Wellness Connection provides bulletin boards to Champions so they can easily promote programs and events. Request a bulletin board today.

Host a Screening

In addition to our regularly scheduled campus-wide events, Wellness Connection is partnering with Champions to host dedicated screening events throughout all campuses. This partnership allows us to personalize the onsite screening experience for each department, making it more convenient for employees to participate and know their numbers.

Activity Challenge Team Captain

Champions can choose to be Team Captains for activity challenge, creating teams and encouraging colleagues to participate and stay motivated. Use this toolkit to be a successful team captain for your department.

Visibility Tools

Visibility tools can help identify you as a Wellness Connection Champion in your department. Add an email signature, introductory placard, and decorate your bulletin board with a banner to help communicate your role as Champion.
