To personalize the employee wellness experience, Wellness Connection utilizes a network of volunteers, or champions. Wellness Connection Champions are WashU employees who are passionate about creating a culture of wellness here at the university. Champions help the Wellness Connection team better understand the needs within different work environments, promote the importance of personal health, and encourage their colleagues to engage in wellness program offerings.
Role of a Wellness Connection Champion
ANNOUNCE: Be visible in your role to your colleagues, department, and supervisors. Serve as the wellness spokesperson for your area.
LISTEN: Understand the unique needs of your colleagues and department.
LEAD BY EXAMPLE: Promote and participate in programs and events. Advocate for a workplace culture of well-being.
SHARE: Share your successes & provide feedback from colleagues.
Join the Wellness Connection Champion Network
Wellness Connection Champions are a diverse network of volunteers who represent the larger WashU community. We welcome differences in our champions in the form of race, ethnicity, disability or genetic information, neurodiversity, geography, socioeconomic status, age, political views, religion, philosophy, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, veteran status, and job roles & responsibilities.
To become a Wellness Connection Champion, complete our Partnership Agreement. This is a non-binding agreement, but it communicates the importance of the Champion’s role in accomplishing our goals and objectives. Champions should be in good standing with Washington University and their departments.
Supervisors – if someone in your department would make a great Champion, encourage them to complete the partnership agreement!
