Early detection is the best tool in the fight against breast cancer. To improve the convenience and availability of mammography, the Siteman Cancer Center operates a mobile mammography van that offers screenings by appointment. The Siteman Cancer Center Mammography Van offers annual screenings for women age 40 and over who have no signs or symptoms of breast cancer. Mammograms on the van take approximately 15 minutes. The results are sent to both you and your doctor. The comfortable mobile facility is designed for patient privacy. Like all Siteman Cancer Center Mammography Centers, the mobile mammography van is fully certified by the FDA and is accredited by the American College of Radiology. The van is also an American College of Radiology Center of Excellence (COE).
Every Thursday, the School of Medicine hosts a Farmers Market for the WashU community. The event is year-round: April through early November, the market is open from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM on the plaza of the BJC Institute of Health at Washington University School of Medicine; November through March, the market moves indoors to the McDonnell Pediatric Research atrium. Vendors bring only the freshest produce and products to the market weekly. View our website for details.
Washington University’s Office of Sustainability and Human Resources Department have partnered with Local Farmer CSA. WashU staff, faculty, and students are invited to sign-up as a CSA member and receive a weekly or bi-weekly Crop Box filled with locally grown produce, fruit, meat, cheeses, yogurt and/or other artisan goods.
David Smith of Local Farmer CSA has weekly pick-up sites across multiple campuses. Each Wednesday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, pickup alternates between the Danforth Campus and West Campus in Clayton. Pickup is available at the WashU Farmers Market each Thursday on the School of Medicine Campus. Contact Dave at (314) 281-6390 to confirm dates & locations. View our website for details.
