Becker Medical Library Re-Opening Celebration

The new Feuerstein Health & Wellness Information Center at Becker Medical Library is a campus resource providing access to trusted health information and programs for the staff, students, and faculty of Washington University and the medical center community. View flyer for details.

Visit the new center on the first floor of Becker Medical Library to find:

  • Books on health and wellness for the whole family;
  • A computer kiosk to access electronic health and wellness resources for personal use;
  • Rotating themes such as mindfulness, heart health, nutrition, smoking cessation, stress, sleep, and more.

 

 

Move into Mindfulness: Mind-Body Stress Reduction Program

Mindfulness is a way to access your inner resources and move towards greater balance, control and peace of mind. This program consists of 7 weeks of classes meeting twice a week during the lunch hour. The program is designed to give you practical coping skills to deal with everyday stress.

WUSM Farmers Market

Every Thursday, the School of Medicine hosts a Farmers Market for the WashU community. The event is year-round: April through early November, the market is open from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on the plaza of the BJC Institute of Health at Washington University School of Medicine; November through March, the market moves indoors to the McDonnell Pediatric Research atrium.Vendors bring only the freshest produce and products to the market weekly. View our website for details.

 

Crop Box Program and Mini-Market every Wednesday

Washington University’s Office of Sustainability and Human Resources Department have partnerewith Local Farmer CSA. WashU staff, faculty, and students are invited to sign-up as a CSA member and receive a weekly or bi-weekly Crop Box filled with locally grown produce, fruit, meat, cheeses, yogurt and/or other artisan goods.

David Smith of Local Farmer CSA has weekly pick-up sites across multiple campuses. Each Wednesday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, pickup alternates between the Danforth Campus and West Campus in Clayton. Pickup is available at the WashU Farmers Market each Thursday on the School of Medicine Campus. Contact Dave at (314) 281-6390 to confirm dates & locations.
