Early detection is the best tool in the fight against breast cancer. To improve the convenience and availability of mammography, the Siteman Cancer Center operates a mobile mammography van that offers screenings by appointment.
The Siteman Cancer Center Mammography Van offers annual screenings for women age 40 and over who have no signs or symptoms of breast cancer. Mammograms on the van take approximately 15 minutes. The results are sent to both you and your doctor. The comfortable mobile facility is designed for patient privacy. Like all Siteman Cancer Center Mammography Centers, the mobile mammography van is fully certified by the FDA and is accredited by the American College of Radiology. The van is also an American College of Radiology Center of Excellence (COE).
Washington University employees enrolled in a Washington University health plan can schedule their annual mammogram within the same anniversary month; you are not required to schedule exactly 1 year from the date of your last mammogram. Spouses and domestic partners of Washington University employees are eligible for a screening by scheduling an appointment. If you have questions about your annual mammogram coverage, please contact your UnitedHealthcare member services at 800-382-2599. The Washington University health plan now covers 3D mammography.
