Washington University is extending two additional days of paid time off to Danforth Campus and Central Fiscal Unit staff employees to be used between Dec. 18, 2020 and Feb. 28, 2021. These days are in addition to the standard university vacation and holiday time off benefits. They do not reduce any time off balances – they are additional “thank you days” for staff employees to use for self-care or time with family.
To take these “thank you days”, talk to your manager about your time off needs and work schedule. Record the two “thank you days” on your timesheet using the “HR Approved Time off field” within the timeframe of Dec. 18 and Feb. 28, 2021. Remember, in addition to these two “thank you days”, you still have your regular time off, including sick, vacation, holidays and leaves. View the “Time off” section on the Policies web page for details.
This year we have faced a series of challenges that have left no aspect of university operations untouched. We will continue to rise up to these challenges together. Through it all, we remain grateful to you for your resilience and commitment to carrying out our collective missions. We hope you enjoy this time off. May it help you recharge and recoup your mental and physical energies.
