Nominations are now open. To nominate a deserving staff member, please review the below criteria and fill out School of Medicine Service Award form. Nominations are due to the office of Human Resources by March 6, 2020.

Each year, the School of Medicine awards three deserving staff with distinguished honors.

Dean’s Distinguished Service Award

The Dean’s Distinguished Service Award remains the highest form of staff recognition at the School of Medicine.  To be eligible, the nominee must be a full-time staff member with a minimum of three (3) years of continuous service.  The award recognizes an employee for displaying ongoing commitment to exceeding job responsibilities, helping to create a positive working environment, and improving the community in which he or she lives.  The prizes are $1000 cash, a personalized award, acknowledgement on the Dean’s plaque, and recognition in the Record.

Complete eligibility details: 

  • Full-time staff employee with 3 years continuous service 
  •  Demonstrates an ongoing commitment to exceeding job responsibilities
  •  Creates a positive working and learning environment (Team Focus) 
  •  Improves our community (Community Service Focus)
  •  In good standing with Department

Research Support, Operations Staff, and Kelley Mullen Clinical Service Awards

To be eligible for the Research Support Award, Operations Staff Award, and Kelley Mullen Clinical Service Award, nominees must be employed at .50 FTE or greater.  These awards recognize employees for exceptional performance, outstanding leadership, and superior quality of service.  Winners receive $500 cash, a personalized plaque, acknowledgement on the Service Award plaque, and recognition in the Record.

The Research Support Award is categorized as Basic Science and Clinical and the Operations Staff Award is Administrative, Facilities, or Teaching.

The complete eligibility details for Research Support and Operations Staff Awards are:

  • Current employee with .50 FTE or greater  
  • Performs duties and demonstrates capabilities that exceed job expectations, including:  
  •  exceptional performance or cooperation 
  •  outstanding leadership
  •  superior quality service 
  •  In good standing with Department

The Kelley Mullen Clinical Service Award

The Kelley Mullen Clinical Service Award recognizes a clinical support staff member who consistently demonstrates ongoing acts of caring that go beyond the normally expected levels of courtesy, responsiveness, and customer service and creates a positive work environment.  This award honors Kelley Mullen, a gifted nurse-clinician and administrator, who exemplified service quality and personified our clinical mission.

The complete eligibility details for the Kelley Mullen Clinical Service Award are:

  • Current employee with .50 FTE or greater  
  • Exceeds the expectations of patients, families, and co-workers in the clinical setting, including: 
  • Exceptional performance or cooperation 
  • Outstanding leadership  
  • Superior quality service 
  • In good standing with Department
