This course will provide an introduction into the core concepts of effective project management and how to manage a project with proven concepts, tools and best practices.
Participants will learn to:
- Define a project
- Develop a schedule
- Identify key roles
- Estimate the project costs
- Methods to keep a project on track
- Close a project
- Obtain required resources to complete their project.
Audience: This class is for all Washington University staff.
Facilitator: Ozzie Lomax. Ozzie is an adjunct instructor at Washington University’s Henry Edwin Sever Institute for the School of Engineering & Applied Science. He has Project Management (PMP) and Risk Management Professional (RMP) Certifications, 38 years Energy, Operations, IOT and Engineering SME and is CEO of Lomax Consulting Group.
Registration Fee: There is no fee for this workshop
No-Show and Late Cancellation Fees: There will be a charge equal to the registration fee to cover the cost of materials for no-shows and late cancellations (less than 5 business days prior to class). For classes with no registration fee, this charge is $50.

WUSTL employees wanting to park at west campus must have a Zone 5 parking permit. If you don’t have a Zone 5 permit, we encourage you to utilize the free West Campus Shuttle to commute between the Danforth and West Campuses.
WUSM employees must display a parking hang tag at all times and can only park in designated visitor parking spaces. The lot behind the building will be designated as visitor parking and is the only spot to park when on west campus.
