Happy New Year! Now is a great time to set an intention of being more mindful, more often, in 2019. This can be as simple as reconnecting to your breath. Be curious about how you are breathing in this moment – notice how you’re feeling. Inside this inquiry we are present and we can experience the fullness of life. Jon Kabat-Zinn calls it “dropping in on yourself, waking up, and not missing this moment”. When we’re on autopilot, we miss the most beautiful aspects of our lives.
Mindfulness is being more aware of your physical, emotional, and mental states; accepting the ups and downs that life throws at you. When we intentionally honor these small moments that make up most of our lives, we discover a peace with what is arising in the present moment.
It only takes a second to drop into the body. How many times a day can you return to your breath?
So here’s to a new year of self-care, meaningful connections, and serving others!

“And now let us welcome the new year, full of things that never were.”
