The Office of Human Resources supports the WUSTL community by focusing on three main objectives:
- People: Facilitate the recruitment, retention and promotion of individuals to ensure a talented, diverse workforce at the university. Supporting activities for this objective include providing recruitment specialists and hiring managers with training, data and information that encourage hiring decisions aligned with the university's commitment to diversity and inclusion. In addition, current employees are supported as they continue to develop their skills and career interests for advancements within the university.
- Workplace: Encourage students, faculty and staff to embrace diversity and inclusion. Supporting activities for this objective include facilitating and developing multi-level diversity and inclusion programs that reduce the cultural distance found among individuals from different backgrounds. Our programs are designed to increase Awareness, Understanding, Commitment and Action for the purpose of advancing a diverse and inclusive academic community.
- External Partners: Strengthen connections with diverse groups through collaborative relationships with external partners. Supporting activities for this objective include working strategically with community partners to develop a pipeline of appropriate applicants from diverse backgrounds to join our community as students, staff and/or vendors.
